9 July Update

At Achieve Australia homes, sites and within all services we continue to maintain rigorous infection control processes and regularly assess risks to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of clients, staff and the community.

Visitors from Victoria
With the recent rise of COVID-19 cases in Victoria, we have introduced additional visitor restrictions in place for people travelling from Melbourne. If you have travelled from Melbourne or Victoria in the last 14 days, please contact our team so that we can make an assessment prior to your visit.

In addition, any visitors to Achieve homes or sites will be asked via the on site declaration form if they have travelled to Victoria in recent times. We understand these measures take some additional time and may cause some inconvenience, however they are in place to protect the health of everyone in our care and our staff.

My Life day program services
Achieve Australia’s My Life day program services have reopened at Epping, Seven Hills and Casino from Monday, 6 July. Health and safety assessments have now been completed and a COVID-19 Safe Plan will be followed at each hub. We have also taken on feedback and suggestions provided to us by families and carers in a recent My Life survey, which has helped inform our planned approach.

The first stage of the reopening will see clients who have been at home and living in the community invited back to the hubs first and these families have been notified. The second stage will see additional assessments completed and a review of current social distancing measures in place under the NSW Government. We will keep you updated about the next stage of the reopening.

The Sewing Basket and AchievAble Enterprises
The Sewing Basket shops have reopened with additional precautionary measures in place to help protect customers, staff and volunteers. For a list of shopping guidelines visit, thesewingbasket.com.au

AchievAble Enterprises at Newington remains open. We have a reduced number of employees on site to meet social distancing restrictions in place. Our team have been working closely with all supported employees and their families to determine individual needs and circumstances. We will continue to monitor government guidelines and provide an update when there is an opportunity to increase further operations.

All other services at Achieve, including accommodation, drop-in support and support coordination, are operating as usual with additional measures in place. You can also read about the latest news and stories on the impact of recent events on our community in our winter edition of Enable magazine.

If you have any questions about the reopening of our services or if you require any further information, please don’t hesitate to contact your on site Achieve staff member or call us on 1300 22 44 38.
